WRITER
Debbra Liverman
A powerful, dynamic and incredible writer has emerged from the shadows of Off Broadway and Broadway in New York, NY to the innovative independent film world and Hollywood style of writing of screenplays. Debbra Liverman is one of the new writers for Power Pictures. Debbra has been with the company for a year and has been writing for over 20 years. Ms. Liverman has always astonished the audience with such gritty, realistic and serious topics that many individuals have thought and still think that her plays depict her own life. However, her plays were never about her life story, but fictional stories. In the beginning of her writing career, she could not understand why people took her writing so seriously. It was just like people believing the characters in popular soap operas.
Debbra has often accredited her father for the love of writing. As a small child, most of the time she had to communicate through pencil and pad using the W’s and the H’s – when, why, where and how. She wrote when it was happening, why it is happening, where it is happening and how it would it be happening. She had to elaborate on her feelings on how it made her felt when writing about situations.
As a graduate of John Jay College, she majored in Public Administration and minored in behavioral science, in which she incorporates in her writing. She invokes a person’s intimate and secret feelings. One of her professors told her that she gets down to the “nitty gritty” and “leave no stones unturned”.
Debbra’s favorite writers are Gene Roddenberry, Stan Hanson, Baldacci, and other writers who have the knack of invoking human emotions past the limit. Power Pictures Inc. welcomes Debbra Liverman aboard the company as one of the primary new innovative writers.
